an update from the crazy road

Hey guys… here’s a quick update from the road. In my last blog I wrote about how I was preparing for a crazy time coming up. Well, it has been every bit as crazy as I expected (and more). I left last Thursday to fly out to Colorado Springs. I had a few interviews to do with Focus on The Family. Then on Friday I was supposed to play music for the entire Focus staff (including the founder… Dr. James Dobson himself). Well, my set was drastically shortened…. To just one song. Something bigger was happening. Dr. Dobson, who started Focus more than 30 years ago was resigning. It was one of those moments that I don’t think I’ll ever forget. When I told my parents what happened, they jokingly replied…”so, you played so badly that he just resigned?” Thanks mom and dad!
After my interesting time at Focus I remained in CO springs to play a winter weekend retreat for the students from FPC CO Springs. We had a blast. We did everything from a pig roast to a bowling ball cannon. And, oh yeah, we sang some too!!. Here are a couple pics…
Then it was time to come home… for 4 hours haha. I had just enough time to eat lunch with my lovely wife before hitting the road again. This time I started a radio tour. We visited 12 different radio stations in the span of 3 days. We rented 3 different cars and hopped aboard 6 different planes in 4 days. As a reward I returned home on Thursday to sleep in my own bed. I got in on midnight and had to leave at 7am for my next journey. I picked up the band and we left for Spartanburg, SC. This is where I’m writing this from. We’re about to leave to come back to Nashville. But, I had a quick second, so I thought I’d fill you in.
Here is the summary. Things really have been crazy. But, things have been awesome. God is doing some awesome things (both through the students we visit and my song on radio.) I just wish I had more time to tell you about them. It’ll come soon. Right now, I don’t even have time to proofread this blog. Please ignore my spelling and grammar!!!
